I registered for the Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help.
This year Komen means more than ever to me. I have not said much publicly, I don't like to call attention to myself, but I think it’s time I "came out" about my own battle.
In January 2020 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer Stage IV. Over the last year I have undergone several different treatments and have been fortunate that not only has my body managed them well, they have worked to beat down the cancer. The most recent treatment I am receiving has resolved all the active cancer areas and my PT Scan showed no active cancer anywhere. This is Huge. And I owe Komen a Huge THANK YOU for providing part of the funding for the research, development and trials done to get this treatment approved by the FDA and available to me.
I'm not cured and still have a long road ahead, but I am in a good place right now because of this treatment and I will live longer because of it.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research like that resulting in the treatment I am benefiting from right now and help for the women and men facing breast cancer today who need our support now, as much as ever. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight and please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
