I have been so blessed by your support these past wonderful 17+ years as a survivor. I’m also a 1 year + survivor of a second primary occurrence of breast cancer 🌺. It’s different from a recurrence in treatment and approach.
I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction ( with 5 surgeries 😳) & will need more surgery. It’s not for the faint of heart! Despite the blessed lack of spread, I received 4 months of weekly chemotherapy weekly (during COVID! ) Yikes! ). It’s the gift that keeps on giving- 😂 especially with hair loss! I also had 6 months of Herceptin, my former trial drug as well as oral hormone treatment for at least 5 -10 years.
Things have come a long way in 17+ years. It’s wonderful to see the advances. When I had an allergic reaction to a previously well-received chemo, new advances had created a new chemo for those in my situation. That’s only one of the many changes. I so appreciate all of your help over the years toward making these changes a reality.
I’m so grateful to be here to enjoy life and want all to have that experience!Thank you all so much! 🌺💕🌸💐
